The EGRET ONE is equipped with a rear wheel brake. Applying the brake lever initially engages a slightly audible electromagnetic brake. It has little braking effect and is used for braking energy recovery. Applying the brake lever harder engages the mechanical drum brake.
Braking interrupts the power supply. This protects the motor, because you are unable to brake and accelerate at the same time. Braking energy recovery can also take place. Switching between drawing high utility current and recovering higher charging current is technically demanding on a battery in our price class. This is why the battery is charged only slightly when braking.
